Morgan graduated from the University of Florida with her Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2016. She also minored in Spanish and Anthropology. She started working as a lab technician for the Biosecurity Research and Extension (BRE) lab about a year and a half ago and fell in love with Entomology.
Morgan started her Master’s in Entomology in the spring of 2017 with a focus on stink bug rearing and insect identification. Morgan is currently working for Dr. Amanda Hodges in the BRE lab on red-banded stink bug, Piezodorus guildinii, and the Bagrada bug, Bagrada hilaris.
As part of her graduate assistantship duties, she is involved in projects outside of her research. She works closely with high school students throughout Florida as part of a youth biosecurity and invasive species outreach program. Morgan also contributes to Florida First Detector materials and workshops as she is interested in a future career in extension.
