Clinical Trials Program
The Clinical Trials Program was initiated to evaluate chemical and other protocols for control of diseases and other pests under production conditions. To achieve this, a coordinator selects, designs, and initiates trials in conjunction with industry, commercial and state cooperators to evaluate methods for pest control using, but not limited to, new chemical materials, new or novel combinations of chemical materials and a variety of alternative disease control products and practices. Currently, research facilities at the Plant Science Research and Education Unit in Citra Florida, and the Plant Science Research and Education Unit in Hastings, Florida are being utilized for this work.
The Clinical Trials program also provides for students, especially Doctor of Plant Medicine students, a supervised training experience in designing and executing laboratory, greenhouse, and field trials for disease control in a variety of patho-systems.
