Dr. Silagyi's responsibilities include:

Develop, implement, and maintain an early detection survey program for plant pests and weeds
Oversee plant pest survey programs and public awareness and outreach activities and interfacing with committees and other state or governmental entities
Plan and coordinate pest survey programs
Provide guidance to state to ensure cooperative agreements are completed correctly
Direct and evaluate the work of various personnel
Participate in the planning and coordination of treatments for newly introduced exotic pests
Participate in the preparation of reports and other documents including site-specific assessments
