DPM Graduates: Putting it all Together!

Plant doctors have found employment in both the public and private sectors and in all aspects of agriculture and plant management. Employment opportunities for our graduates include:

Agrichemical Companies

Technical or sales representatives.

Cooperative Extension Service

Cooperative Extension Service as single or multicounty agents or in other positions.

Education

Education as teaching faculty of agriculture, biology, microbiology courses and other related subjects at 2- and 4-year colleges and universities.

Agribusiness

Agribusiness (large plant/crop production firms and seed companies) asĀ in-house consultants or technical/sales specialists.

International Agriculture

International graduates of the program may be particularly helpful to the agriculture of their home countries because of the comprehensiveness and practical nature of the DPM degree. Other graduates may work as plant health specialists with non-profit organizations and government sponsored projects.

IPM Coordination

IPM Coordination at the state or federal level.

Urban Horticulturalist

Urban Horticulturalist as plant health management specialists for parks, botanical gardens and other public plantings.

Private Practice

Private Practice either as independent consultants or members of crop consulting firms.

Regulatory Agriculture

Regulatory Agriculture with federal agencies such as the USDA Animal Plant Health Inspection Service, EPA or state plant health agencies.
